To: All Interested Parties

From: Living Ministries Christmas Angel Telethon Committee

Date: Thursday November 7, 2012

Location: The Longview Eagles Hall; 1526 12th Ave. Longview, WA

Attendance: Karen Gidderon, Tom Stebbins, Norma Davey & Summer Clemenson

The meeting was called to order at 6:09 pm by Committee Chair, Karen Gidderon.

Karen has 11 interviews scheduled.

Potentially we can have 57 interviews but we would prefer to fill some of those spots with smaller acts. Interviews are about how groups, organizations & businesses and how they interact and  help in the community. Last year was put together so quickly that we don’t know what to expect from this year. We are sure it will be a completely different kind of production.

Norma suggested that we contact Ken Botero and Kurt Anagnostou and some of the area commissioners to give some great input on our community.

Tom suggested Cindy Turpin would be a great guest.

Summer said that Mike Wallin came last year and he already knows about the event. She suggested that Mayor Futcher would also be a great guest. We invited him last year but he already had plans. We want to make sure to include Kelso in our event.

Other people that we want to consider inviting are:

    • Mark Nelson w/ Cowlitz County Sheriff
    • Frank Morrison w/ Community House on Broadway
    • Dennis Weber w/ Longview City Council/Mayor
    • Sherri Tinocco w/ Emergency Support Shelter
    • Chris Baily w/ LCC
    • Chuck Hendrickson w/ Love Overwhelming
    • LCC Jazz Band
    • Erik Nordin
    • The Reptile Man – Norma thinks it would be a great opportunity for him to say thank you for all the help he has got after his fire. Bethany Pithan is related.
    • Kalei LaFave

KLTV has promised 3 cameras.

Karen is going to talk to Keath Huff of Utilize IT about borrowing some laptops to help with streaming.

Time is not set on the Potato Bar yet. Karen wants to talk to Jerry at The Eagles about doing the Pancake Breakfast again since people are asking about it.

All media is donated. Norma suggested that any type of media will be more apt to give if they understand that we have not paid for any so far.

Christmas Angel Bingo is this weekend. Saturday Nov 10th at 6 pm at The Longview Eagles Nest.

Epic Event Planning has the Holiday Spa & Beauty Expo on Saturday Nov 17th from 10 am to 5 pm. Living Ministries is volunteering and has invited The Salvation Army to be there to help the raffles and donations going to them run smoothly. We will be able to advertise Christmas Angel Telethon there.

Karen mentioned that her friend Jean Bruner would like to play the piano at the telethon. She would like to play around 1 pm on Saturday.

Norma went to a fundraiser the previous weekend and she said that the music was great. She gave us the names of the bands that played:

    • The Lovely Lost
    • Gordon Painter
    • Gravity
    • Slim Bacon
    • Andrew Rivord
    • Bill Maclaren
    • Mending Hope – Leader is named Zackery
    • The Beaver Boogie Band
    • The Tom Seiler Band

Norma’s friend is interested in volunteering and will talk to Mark Morris High School students to get community service.

Captain Dave of The Salvation Army has ordered a bell ringing station that is covered and heated for the event.

Tom suggested talking to Star Rental about some lights or a generator for Christmas lights for the bell ringing station. He said he will see if we can offer the reflective vests used at Street of Screams for bell ringers that want to wear them to be seen better in the evening.

Janice Hillman and Captain Dave at The Salvation Army are trying to reach Alan Rose of Lower Columbia CAP to see if we can use their parking lot. Summer said she would also try to reach him.

Our next meeting is Tuesday November 20th at 6 pm at The Longview Eagle’s Nest.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:09 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Summer Clemenson

Living Ministries Executive Director
