Attendance: Norma Davey, John Hanna, Tom Stebbins, Linda Haarstad, Lonnie Knowles, Summer Clemenson
The meeting was called to order at 6:18 pm by Committee Chair, Karen Gidderon.
Christmas Angel Bingo brought in $119.70 for The Salvation Army.
Lonnie suggested that we have the telethon live on Comcast and KLTV. This is a great idea we can work on for next year.
Lonnie also suggested that since KLTV is letting us use 3 cameras, that maybe they will let us use a couple rolling tripods.
Norma gave us the phone number for a lady named Christine that wants to volunteer at the telethon. She may have some band contacts.
Linda’s friend, Linda C. wants to volunteer. She also has some stories about The Salvation Army.
John told us about a 12-year-old boy with is own business, named Beau. His father has already given permission for him to give an interview at the telethon. John shared his father’s contact information.
Norma reminded us that Garth Pithan may be interested in coming to the telethon and sharing his story about the community helping him following his house fire and death of his pets. He is related to Bethany Pithan of Longview Stageworks.
The Eagles are sponsoring 3 food specials during the telethon:
Saturday Noon to 2 pm: Taco Soup and Salad for $3
Saturday 6 to 8 pm: Baked Potato Bar $5
Sunday 9 am to noon: Pancake Breakfast (Pancake, Sausage, Fruit, Juice/Coffee) $4
Lonnie let us know that Scott Vedro from Pets, Pawns & Imports wants to be a Gold Sponsor. He will donate $500 to be listed and will match another person’s $1000 donation at the event.
It was also suggested that Dale Lemmons of Lemmons Trucking may also match a donation as well as Angie Leppart. She is bringing bikes and helmets for the Christmas Angel Community Center.
Norma suggested that a band Cool Water.
We need weighted bases for the Christmas Angel Telethon Banner for the truck in the parade on Dec 1st.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:13 pm.
