There are a lot of costs that go into planning a 24 Hour Telethon and we need some help!
We have planned a Garage Sale at Salvation Army and all proceeds that are not directly spent on the event will be going right in the kettle for Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Community Center that serves 3,000 families, senior citizens and shut-ins during Christmas with gifts and food baskets.
It takes around $50,000 to make this program work and because of program changes, there is a deficit and Living Ministries wants to help Salvation Army as much as we can.
Do you have items that you aren’t using anymore that may be worth something to someone else? We can use your donations. We will be setting up the Garage Sale and accepting donations on Friday October 19, 2012 from 2 to 6 pm at Salvation Army Longview/Kelso Temple Corps. We will be using the dining room upstairs (don’t worry there is an elevator). We ask that you price your items at what you think is a fair price and bring them to us at that time.
Do you have items that you would like to donate for raffles during the Garage Sale? Call Karen at 360-353-3745 and she will be glad to accept them.
Do you like Garage Sales and want to look for some great deals? Join us from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday October 20, 2012.
Living Ministries will be tithing the first 10% of all proceeds from the garage sale to Salvation Army.
90% of all money earned from the garage sale will go to Christmas Angel Telethon. Anything not spent on the telethon will go directly to Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Community Center that feeds over 3,000 families, senior citizens and shut-ins during Christmas time.
Left over items will be donated to:
- Angel Wings Ministry
- Caring Pregnancy Center
- Habitat for Humanity’s Restore
- Hospice Thrift Store
- Love Overwhelming

Did you know that Salvation Army serves 300 hot meals every Monday through Friday to people in our community, gives out vouchers for many different needs, clothing and personal hygiene items, food boxes and emergency services with only 5 employees and a handful of volunteers?
If you have questions about the Garage Sale please call Karen at 360-353-3745 or Summer at Living Ministries at 360-431-1442 so we can handle this event without taking the focus off of the people receiving services at Salvation Army. Thank you!
